A week after the release of Minecraft PE 1.16.100.53, the Mojang team decided to release two more game updates: a beta and a full version. We will start with the beta called Minecraft PE 1.16.100.54 because it was released first and because it brings very many helpful and interesting features so there is a lot to explore.
We must mention that a big part of this beta’s features are connected to the vanilla parity but the developers also worked on fixing several crashes, improving the graphical aspect of the game, and adding several technical changes.

By installing this version, you can discover that:

• The tips appearing on the loading screen and the splash texts were improved
  
• The map color of many blocks was modified
  
• The creative menu does not contain a section for the warped and nether wart blocks that does not unfold
  
• The bug making The Totem of Undying apply wrong effects was corrected
  
• The wrong punctuation detected in the hints appearing on the loading screen was corrected
  
• The mobs won’t be able to power minecarts when standing in them now
  
• Players will take damage if they contact with sweet berry bushes (this is available for all the mobs too)
  
• Ladders can be climbed by slimes
  
• The bug making ladders invisible if placed near to each other was fixed
  
• In case you kill a mob that has its armor equipped and holds a ranged weapon, it will drop armor loot
  
• When linking a compass having a custom name to a loadstone, it will keep its name
  
• Introduced the /fog command
  
• Slimes will be able to use ladders properly now
  
• A graphical issue affecting the ladders was fixed
  
• Only the chests in Bastion remnants can contain the soul speed enchant
  
• Warped fungi on sticks are held by zombified piglins that are as jockeys
  
• The harming effects have a healing effect on zoglins now and the healing effects act as a damage effect
  
• The iron golems are aggressive towards the hoglins
  
  
  
• The bug not letting hoglins flee from respawning anchors was fixed
  
  
  
• The Crimson forests are suitable for growing warped fungi
  
• Baby hoglins drop items upon death (this is available for baby piglins too)
  
• Lanterns can be used even underwater and the user can put water sources on top of them without fearing that they will pop
  
  
  
• When mining, the soul campfires won’t drop charcoals, but soul soil
  
• The issue not letting players use nether sprouts composters was fixed
  
  
  
• Players can tempt striders that have riders
  
• Chains can be aligned in horizontal position now.
