Starting with the release of Minecraft PE 1.16.230.56 which is the latest game version, you will see the MCPE caves from a totally different angle. The MCPE developers improved everything related to the caves, including their generation in our gaming worlds.
This time, the developers carried out fewer bugfixes than in Minecraft PE 1.16.230.54 that we talked about last week, but this is a good thing because: a) there were fewer issues detected and b) they had more time to focus on the changes done in regards to the caves.

Let us tell you about the bugfixes, so we can get to the changes faster. So, this time, the MCPE developers fixed several game crashes that used to occur:

• Unexpectedly during the gameplay
  
• While switching through Character Creator items
  
• When jungle biomes generate
  
• When curing zombie villagers in other dimensions than the overworld
  

There was also a bug not letting players apply Character Creator items as required, but it was fixed too.
Now that we know that all the above-mentioned problems won’t stop us from playing, let's see what changes we can enjoy starting with this beta. These are:
A new cave generation that includes caves of more different sizes and shapes

• Visibility of water in the caves was improved
  
• Ores generating in a different way. This was done in accordance with the new world generation so it would match its height. Mining ores will be also more interesting now because you will have to adapt a new strategy for doing this.
  
• Local water was introduced in caves. Now every cave will have its own water level.
  
• The mineshafts had to be modified and improved too so they can fit the new caves. You will notice that they are attached to floors or ceilings with columns or chains now.
